Wire Maintenance: Verizon maintains the wire up to the connecting block as part of basic service. Wire beyond that point is the responsibility of the customer. You have the option to repair it on your own, hire someone to do it, hire Verizon at an additional charge or repairs can be covered by one of Verizon's maintenance Plans.
Outlets/Jacks/Rewiring: You have the option to rewire or install the jacks yourself, hire a contractor or allow Verizon to do the work at an additional cost. For inside repair work, the cost to hire Verizon for time and labor is $91.00 for the first half hour and $46.00 for each additional half hour. If customer subscribes to IMP then the rates are $81.00 for the first half hour and $40.00 for each additional half hour of labor. For jack installation and wiring, If the customer subscribes to one of the Inside Wire Maintenance Plans, the Verizon fee is $85 for the first jack and $45 for each additional jack. If the customer does not subscribe to an Inside Wire Maintenance Plan, the Verizon fee is $95.00 for the first jack and $53.00 for each additional jack. Exclusions to this fee will be quoted by the technician if encountered at the job site.
Lifeline Service: You may be eligible for a monthly discount on your telephone service. If you or anyone else in your household receives benefits for one of the following: Aid to Families with Dependent Children (ADC), Food Stamps, Home Energy Assistance Programs, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA), or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
