Disclaimers
Terms and Conditions: Ranges of prices are offered for some products, and additional charges may apply. Pricing may not reflect current promotional pricing. In the event of a discrepancy between the information contained here and the applicable tariff, the tariff terms shall prevail. All features are subject to availability and compatibility restrictions. Taxes and surcharges will apply. Most Verizon services are provided pursuant to applicable tariffs.
Wire Maintenance: Verizon maintains the wire up to the connecting block as part of basic service. Wire beyond that point is the responsibility of the customer. You have the option to repair it on your own, hire someone to do it, hire Verizon at an additional charge or repairs can be covered by one of Verizon's maintenance Plans.
Outlets/Jacks/Rewiring: You have the option to rewire or install the jacks yourself, hire a contractor or allow Verizon to do the work at an additional cost. For inside repair work, the cost to hire Verizon for time and material fees is $91.00 for the first half hour and $46.00 for each additional half hour. The Verizon fee is $110 for the first jack and $46 for each additional jack. Exclusions to this fee will be quoted by the technician if encountered at the job site. The Fixed Fee assumes normal jack installation free of unusual circumstances warranting additional work.
Lifeline: In Vermont there is a Lifeline plan that provides assistance on basic service. You can qualify if you belong to certain programs or meet certain income requirements (i.e. Medicaid, Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Federal Public Housing/Section 8 Assistance).
Toll Cap Limit: If Verizon is unable to verify the information that has been submitted, a Toll Cap Limit will be added to your account for calls made to outside of Vermont. If you exceed $200.00 for these toll calls, your line will be blocked. Once payment is received, the block will be removed. After you have established a good payment record with Verizon for 9 consecutive months, it will be permanently removed.
499 Procedure: If there has not been previous phone service at the new address, it could take up to 4-6 weeks for the service to be installed. Customer could be required to pay for installation of the pole for those addresses classified as new construction with no previous telephone connectivity.
