| Wire Maintenance: |
Verizon maintains the wire up to the connecting block as part of basic service. Wire beyond that point is the responsibility of the customer. You have the option to repair it on your own, hire someone to do it, hire Verizon at an additional charge or repairs can be covered by one of Verizon's maintenance Plans. |
| Outlets/Jacks/Rewiring: |
You have the option to rewire or install the jacks yourself, hire a contractor or allow Verizon to do the work at an additional cost. For inside repair work, the cost to hire Verizon for time and material fees is $91.00 for the first half hour and $46.00 for each additional half hour. If you subscribe to IMP then the rates are $81.00 for first half hour and $40.00 for each additional half hour of labor. For jack installation and wiring, if you subscribe to one of the Inside Wire Maintenance Plans, the Verizon fee is $85 for the first jack and $45 for each additional jack. If you do not subscribe to an Inside Wire Maintenance Plan, the Verizon fee is $95 for the first jack and $53 for each additional jack. Exclusions to this fee will be quoted by the technician if encountered at the job site. |
| Buried Wire: |
If newly constructed home, Verizon will bury the first 250 feet free of charge. The 250 feet is measured from the centerline or the cable facility paralleling the road, whichever is less, air-line distance to the power company's meter located at the customer's premise. Charges from 250 feet to 2000 feet will be at the rate of $.65 per foot. Verizon will notify the customer of said charges and will collect for the charges before the work is performed. |
