||Verizon maintains the wire up to the connecting block as part of basic service. Wire beyond that point is the responsibility of the customer. You have the option to repair it on your own, hire someone to do it, hire Verizon at an additional charge or repairs can be covered by one of Verizon's maintenance Plans.
||You have the option to rewire or install the jacks yourself, hire a contractor or allow Verizon to do the work at an additional cost. For inside repair work, the cost to hire Verizon for time and material fees is $91.00 for the first half hour and $46.00 for each additional half hour. If customer subscribes to IMP then the rates are $81.00 for first half hour and $40.00 for each additional half hour of labor. For jack installation and wiring, if the customer subscribes to one of the Inside Wire Maintenance Plans, the Verizon fee is $85 for the first jack and $45 for each additional jack. If the customer does not subscribe to an IWM plan, the Verizon fee is $95 for the first jack and $53 for each additional jack. Exclusions to this fee will be quoted by the technician if encountered at the job site.
||Lifeline is a government program that offers qualified people a discount on their monthly local telephone bill. Qualifying programs are Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), General Assistance and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). To apply for Lifeline, call 1-800-640-4155.
|Caller ID Blocking:
||Caller ID is available in Pennsylvania. Your telephone number will appear on a Caller ID display unit of the person you call. Free blocking options are available that can prevent the number from being displayed. Per Call Block: Press *67 before you place your call and your number will show up as "Private" or "Anonymous". Per Line Block: Sets up a permanent block which will display your number as "Private" or "Anonymous" on Caller ID units. You can override the feature at any time by dialing *82 prior to making an outbound call.
|Optional Service Statement:
||Basic service comprises your local service, local toll service, and long distance service. All other services are optional and not required for basic service.
||With all new Verizon accounts, a personal credit application is required. Verizon will verify the information you provide with a credit agency. Verizon will contact you directly is there is a credit issue such as a need for a deposit. Also, if you have had an account with Verizon in the past, your account history will be reviewed and you may be contacted if there is an outstanding final bill.
